| So this morning I'm at St. Paul. I finally made it. I
think I am officially an exterme traveller. Let's see, I
started travelling Saturday, went to Ohio, saw Wolf,
drove back to Indiana, saw Harold and Sandy and others,
slept a little, drove to Chicago, got on a plane, spent
13 hours on a plane, got off in Tokyo, found computer,
emailed some people, got back on a plane, got to Ichon,
outside of Seoul, there it got sketchy. Called
Kevin and Mr. Kim to let them know I was there and so
they could find me, which helped. After that they found
me they helped me grab my trunk and we stopped by a
McDonalds so Kevin and Mr. Kim could eat, at that point I
lost my appetite, something about all the travelling. We
got on a bus, for an hour and headed over to the train
Station in Seoul where we caught the 4 hour express train
to Daegu, where we met Mr. Kim's wife, and got in a car
for the 20 minute drive to the School, where we stopped
first, at about 3:00 a.m. to get keys, and then to my
apartment. The apartment is sweet. It's a very nice sized
studio with a full sized bed, a rather nice bathroom,
fridge, tv, etc. I found some trouble in that the plugs
here are entirely different, so I have to figure out if
I'm going to be able to plug things into the wall or get
an adapter. I have a washing machine in my apartment, but
I need to get the nylon bags to put my clothes in so I
can do laundry. I also have a coffee pot and a microwave.
I still need to get shampoo and a few other things, but
for the most part everything is okay. I have a rice
steamer too so that is very nice. Eventually
I will get food, I'll let you know. For
anyone who wants to send me things, coffee, deodorant,
other things, my address is as follows. Sara
Davila I
will have a phone, would have had one last night, but
there were problems with the phone I was supposed to get.
I think this is fairly comprehensive letter and covers
most of what happened. Perhaps
the most unusual part of my journey was landing in Tokyo
and looking out the window and seeing a bird flying. It
was beautiful and green, and I suddenly realized I had no
idea what it was. The
other interesting thing is the shower being in the middle
of the bathroom, but I think I'll get used to that rather
quickly. |
