Well things are settling down and people are settling in, Lily finally finished cleaning her new apartment, not because she had to but because she volunteered only to find out that Eric was perhaps more messy than she anticipated. Among the finds were candles and rocks in the refrigerator which Eric swears must have been left there by either Kevin or Shannon because he cannot imagine why he would have done such a thing.

Either way, Lily should be moving out this evening which gives me my own apartment again, and a lovely new person just a few minutes away from me, aside from working with me. She started feeling out the new classes today and enjoys the POB (very young, very basic learners) as much as I do, so that is an excellent start. It looks like Mr. Kim has agreed that their is one student in the class who needs to be moved to my more basic preschool class (Jayho for those of you in the know a 6 year old boy with all the symptoms of ADD who is trying to learn a new language on top of it) may be moved to my six o’clock priLily class, which should make it more interesting.

The new Korean teacher Liz has us all scratching our heads, as she seems to have forgotten much of the English she had when she acquired the job, and communication seems to break down on a regular basis. Alas, she is my partner in many classes so I have to work through it regardless.

It's been raining here, and downright cold all of the sudden, with the evening temps being in the low 20's which is awfully chilly compared with the high temps of the low 30's just  a few weeks ago. We've had allot of rain the last two days and have been told to expect a Typhoon or two for the Korean Thanksgiving holiday which is either this weekend or next weekend, although I suspect it is this weekend. Apparently if I had wanted to leave Daegu I needed to have made plans sometime in April as it will be impossible to get a ticket anywhere now.

Mr. Kim's mother was taken out to Seoul this week where she underwent triple by-pass surgery, so the last week has been a bit stressful for him, what with the sudden disappearance of Jenny, and the arrival of a new teacher so conveniently out of the blue and off the plane. Fate it seems was good.

Other than that there is not too much to report, so I thought if I had not mentioned I might mention now that baking is hard to do in Daegu. All of our apartments are equipped with a stove, but that is all. There is no American oven. In fact the stoves hark back to those old Coleman gas powered camp stoves, they are irritating to turn on and irritating for the most part to use and you can really make biscuits. If anyone has a recipe or suggestions for stove top breads they would be most welcome as it would be nice to be able to bake your own things.

Time is passing quietly and peacefully and I've been told that soon the leaves will change colors which I am looking quite forward too, I will probably go up in the mountains and walk around as the leaves change, which should be fairly exciting.

I managed to get my bank in the US to activate the debit card they sent me without my taking it to an ATM and using my pin which is the only way I am supposed to be able to access it. I explained to the bank that I would be happy to do it he conventional way if they would walk me through it, in Korean, and they chickened out.

I miss all of you, and for the most part would like to hear some kind words from home at the moment. Hope all is well for you.
