| I'm still debating if I should go to a
traditional Chi-sock holiday with Mr. Kim or if I will
just hang around Daegu and catch up on all the work I am
behind on. I have not decided yet. Either way it will be
my first two day weekend in awhile as I still have to
work on Sunday, but Lily will take over next week so that
it is all taken care of rather expeditiously. In
the meantime I wanted to thank everyone for the bread
recipes. It looks like I will need to find a dutch oven
at least before I can back any stove top bread. It has been rather cool, but I think I probably fooled
you all when I wrote that it was in the 20's and 30's as
Korea is on Metric temperatures and I'm not sure what
that converts to in farnheight. It doesn't feel like 20
it just feels better than the low thirty's which are
unbearable. In the meantime the website that I designed for the
school several months ago is finally online because I was
at last given the server information to make it
accessible. You can go check it out if you are curious at
http://www.stpaulacademy.com
it may change several times in the next few days, as I am
still working some things out. I need to talk with Mr.
Kim about teachers as he would like to post pictures of
all the old teachers in the teachers section, and I think
that would be great but we should have the new teachers
too. Daegu smells funny again. It smells funny in Daegu
frequently as the city has tripled in size but the sewege
system has not, as I mentioned before. So aside from
having to avoid drinking the water you occasionally have
to deal with the strange smell. My gas stovetop also
emits a strange odor when I am boiling water for coffee,
it smells off and vaguely like burning rubber which I
find disturbing. Alas, for the last three weeks a Korean
has been knocking on my door at seven in the morning.
Apparently he is a gas inspector and he needs to check
the gas hookup in my apartment. Usually by the time I
manage to roll out of bed and reasonable clothing to
answer the door he has departed which could create a
slight international situation later on. So I suppose that is it for now, I will let you know
if I do anything interesting during Chi-sock, if you
don't hear from me in seven days, avenge my death. |
