As I've said before Korean's drive insanely. And I do mean it is insane. Having now been in several dozen cabs, a few dozens busses, and the directors car on several occasions, I can attest to the fact that driving here is very harzardous to your health. Me, occasionally I like to drive but driving in Korea is out of the questions.

First of all, everyone here has a car, and there is no where to park that car. Then you have the streets which are themselves to small to really hold traffic that are packed with people from end to end. Through on top of that the fact that most Koreans do not obey traffic lights, and the total lack of stop signs (I dont know why there are not stop signs on any of the streets, maybe to save money, maybe because Koreans would ignore them anyway) and you have a very combustable dangerous situation. As it is I have only been almost mowed down about three times now, which I guess isn't too bad. I've been on two large busses that have run red lights much to my hearts dismay and that of the uncoming drivers, and I have been in one taxi that has almost been crushed when running a red light only to have the oncoming traffic stop politely before killing us (myself, the driver, and Lily).

That all being said, I'm fine and alive, and I wanted to poke up my head and say hello as I've had no real email in about four days so I figure I was overdue. I got my winter clothes on Friday which turns out to be just in time, as it has gotten much cooler here than I had expected, being from Chicago and all, and the temps are in the low twenties (that is celsius {conversion (temp*1.8)+32 for those of you who are mathmatically inclined}). There is a planned field trip for yet another Korean holiday on Thursday but whether or not anyone will be going is still up in the air. I would like to go for a drive around the mounatians to see the changing leaves but it went from being free to costing a bit more money than I have only four days before my paycheck so it looks like I may not be on the way after all. My priorities included joining the gym again, and I did that before I found out about the cost of the trip.

In the meantime the leaves have started to change colors, but the mountains here are still quite green.  I'm waiting patiently, if I can't go on this trip this thursday I will probably take a considerably cheaper trip by bus to one of the mountain temples and paint a buddha all day which I think could be just oodles of fun.

I've managed to complete quite  a few paintings here, and although Jason has been kind enough to allow me to photograph them all with his digital camera, we cannot find the software I need to load the picutres up so I can post them to my website. I will let you know when they have been placed there.

That's about it for now, fairly laid back I suppose.
